Old Antique Automaton Singing Song Birds Cage Music Box: sold in As-Is condition....Not in full working condition . I believe the bellows need to be repaired or replaced in order for the birds to sing again. The birds chirped and moved up and down when I first bought this at an antique mall about 25-30 years ago, but there are cracks in the bellows, so no sound comes out now. The red bird sometimes does move a little now when it is wound up, but it is sporadic. The yellow bird is not moving consistently now either...only the tail moves on occasion. I am not sure where this item was made. There are no clear markings on the bottom...there is VERY faded print above one of the feet, and it is basically illegible. From my best guess, I think it contained three words, and there are very faint hints of a tail to the end of the area where it appears to be a third word. So, purely guessing, it may be possibly have been made in Germany. I am not an expert iin antiques, so I apologize for the vagueness of this description. The entire item needs a careful cleaning. It would be wonderful for someone to be able to to restore this treasaure to its original working charm and beauty. Thank you for looking!
