VERY old 1880's cake platter/stand. W. B. & Sons Brownfield. Measures 12 inches across and 2 inches tall. Extremely good shape for its age. I looked it over very well and only found one very small flea bit on the rim and a couple of rough spots on the rim. Not chips but a little rough. No cracks. It does have crazing as you would expect from a piece this old and some discoloration. Overall very nice hunt scene. Colors are still very bright. Here is further info I received from a china collecting club about this cake stand: Thank you! This compote is one in the Sylvan series of 13 different wildlife scenes. So far, we have only two from the series. They are subtitled "The Austrailian Bush " (a kangaroo mother and baby ) and "Wildlife in the Alps" (featuring a Mountain goat on a rocky craig watching an eagle flying above). Ten of the scenes have subtitles. I will double box and insure this piece. If anyone has any further info or details about this piece I would appreciate the info. Thanks
