A beautiful antique composition baby doll, who looks to be wearing her old original clothes she was first dressed in. She has a pretty cotton bonnet, long christening gown which measures 38" in length, a petticoat, and this wonderful long satin cape which has been edged with soft swan down feathers. On the back of her neck she has 'AS Germany 268/8' impressed which may help to date and identify her. With her bright blue sleeping eyes, some teath showing, and shaped 'hair', she is a charming girl measuring approx 23" long. Both the doll and clothes are in fair/good condition for their many years, but not perfect (if you need to know anything that I haven't mentioned please email), with the stringing becoming loose (see photo of arm joints), and some grubby marks to her face & body. The clothes are aged too, with the gown having brown aged speckling, and the cape now heavily moulting the feather down (filling the air if over-handled!). However, she is a very captivating old girl, she sits up well too so would look great positioned on a chair somewhere, and just hopes to find a forever loving home.
