Large black cloth Island doll called 'Bahia' from Brazil. Her features are stitched onto her face, big wide eyes with teeth showing through her small lips. She has life like fingernails and fabulous jewelry made from seeds or nuts with glass beads . The skirt is a gold polka dot fabric with bands of flowers to match her floral top with lace trim sleeves and neckline . She wears a silky floral shaw with red fringes. Her shoes are sewn onto her feet and have little red bows. . She has a woman's body with small red stitched bumps for breasts and wide hips. She has a sticker on her bottom that reads " Industria Brasile Ev Angelina Leite Cosme de Faria Salvador + Bahia" She is a stiff bodied doll that can sit but not stand. Doll is in good condition with the exception of a few small holes at the seams . The paint on the jewley is starting to chip is places .The dress appears a little dirty , has a few holes at seams or trim is coming off and some small stains. Although I have a smoke free home the materila has the slight smell of smoke from previous. Fantastic old doll needs a new home !
