For Auction: This very old Bakelite Necklace, Guaranteed Antique, featuring very large pieces of Bakelite. This Necklace is all hand made with washed Silver beads between the large Bakelite chunks, as well as the figural clasp. (see pictures) This necklace has been restrung with heavy wax coated beading cord. Please see all the pictures. This Necklace is 35" long, the large square Red Bakelite and one Yellow Bakelite pieces all measure just less than 11/4" X 11/4", the silver washed beads are 1/2" in diameter, the smaller Red Beads decrease in size from the largest just less than 3/4" wide X just less than 1" long, to the smallest being just less than 1/2" wide X just less than 1/2" long, the round Yellow beads are all the same size at just less than 1/2" in diameter. Please note the figurals on the round part of the clasp. This Necklace weighs 1pound 5ounces on my new digital shipping scale, that is just the necklace by itself. TEST RESULTS: Using the "409" test, The large Cubes test a very stong positive for Bakelite, the smaller beads also test positive, but test a little weaker.
