A N.E. persian Baluch rug, probably North of Korason is up for auction. It has a four cord selvedge in good condition and 88 asymetrical knots per square inch. The drawing is marvelous especially in the main border. Notice the reciprical spaces. The crab border creates animal skin designs with opposing bird's heads in the claws. Condition is pretty good for its age but I direct your attention to photos 3 and 4 where knot heads are showing. Of course the black is uniformly corroded because of iron oxides in the mordant process. This gives the rug a 3D effect. The rug measures 32 1/2" by 58 1/2". The rug has no stains tears holes tip fading or other problems apart from those mentioned. Shipping in the lower 48 states is $14.00. Elsewhere, it is the actual cost.
