Here we have another Estate Find. It is a Vintage Stronghart Co. Of Chicago Locking Coin / Bill Handled Bank or Purse. These were made for several institutions. This one is EXTREMELY RARE. It was made prior to 1930 For The BANK OF ITALY CALIFORNIA, NATIONAL TRUST AND SAVINGS. The Bank Of Italy Became " The Bank Of America" in early 1931. This is one of a few original Survivors. It is in Great condition for its age. It is Nickle Plated Brass With the BOI Logo made of Embossed brass. It come with a key that is not the original The key was broken in the lock and I had a lock smith Remove the broken piece and remake a new key form the original. It opens and closes correctly. There are some small wave type dents at the money slot that appear that some one needed to remove any money in the bank. Not really very noticeable at all. Other then that it is nice. It measures Approx. 3.75 inches acroos and is approx 2.5 inches tall. This rare piece would make a great addition to any collection. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking.
