Up for bid are these old bookends. They are marked with Barye on the front and a mark on the back, D & K co (see pic). I don't know what type of metal these are, possibly bronze?? But I am not sure. I really don't know too much about these. They have a greenish gold patina. They look as if t was some kind of coating put on these. How I can tell is that one has some flaking on the lower back side of the body. They have felt glued to the bottom, one of the felt pads fell off, but could be glued back on. I don't see anything else wrong, except the flaking on the one. They measure 4 3/8" in height, approx. 7 5/8" X 2 1/4" across the base. If you have any questions, please ask. I will try my best to answer them. Thanks for looking! |
