This old tobacco tin has a scene on it that looks to me like a yacht race. The words printed on it read: âeoeBattle Royal, Cut Plug, United State Tobacco Co , Smoke or Chew and Factory Richmond, Va.âe. T is a statement about it being illegal to use it for tobacco again that I have provided a close-up of. I am not a tobacco tin expert but I do know antiques in general and I guarantee this to be a genuine old tin and not a modern reproduction. I purchased it at a garage sale along with a few other old items. I have seen it listed as rare. It measures close to 5 1⁄2 by 3 by 1 1⁄4 inches. The condition is much like you see it in my photos. T are no dents and the lid opens and closes easily. You can see how t is some plating missing off of the bottom both inside and outside and how the metal is dark w it is missing. T are a few tiny spots w the enamel has flaked off to expose the metal beneath. Some of those tiny spots are shiny while the rest are dark. T is a small area near the stern of the large yacht that has some kind of white substance on it that I have not been able to remove with a little water. Also, t is a streak of some kind of soil running across the âeoeUâe in âeoePlugâe that I have not been able to easily wipe off.
