This Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. brass microscope has sat unused for many years and is being sold for the Cincinnati Nature Center . Proceeds benefit the Center's education program.

The brass number plate reads "16269." The brass is blemished in places with some adhesive remains below the course adjustment (t is no fine adjustment) and t is a Cincinnati Nature Center inventory sticker on the underside of the base. This scope has a tilting limb and weighs 8.4 pounds by itself. The plano-concave mirror is in very good condition and has a movable arm allowing for any desired adjustment.

The triple nosepiece changer is currently fitted with two modern objectives (a 4X and a 10X). This set comes with an array of other objectives including 1) a 3 mm Bausch and Lomb brass objective in brass case (note that someone taped a piece of masking tape on the case and wrote the word "pitted"); 2) a 1/6 IN series I Bausch and Lomb lense; 3) a 2/3 IN Bausch & Lomb in brass case; 4) a Spencer 1.8 mm objective in black-coated brass case; 5) an unmarked objective in a brass case. The lid of the tube case reads "Society Adapter 1/8 inch."

The filter and iris work well but lenses could use a cleaning. A Bausch and Lomb rapid rectilinear lens is also included (it appears this is a exchangeable part of the filter/iris assembly).

The lot includes Bausch and Lomb 2 inch and 1 inch eyepieces. T are no stage clips anyw in the box but t are holes for them in the stage.

The wooden box has a working lock and key, brass carrying handle and one slotted accessory tray. T is a crack in the wood on the top of the box running from the left (key side) of the box toward the center. The crack is in the lip of the top that extends out over the door.
