BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN BECKERS STYLE TABLETOP STEREOVIEWER This incredible stereoviewer made of burled walnut was manufactured in the late 1800's and is in excellent condition. T are no scratches, dents or defects of any kind. T isn't any separation of veneers or any faults at all. Even the mirrors are in very good condition. T is no way to say if they have ever been replaced in the past. As is often the case, the maker is unknown but could quite possipbly be made by the English firm of Meagher of London ( see Paul Wing's book Stereoscopes, the first 100 years, page 44). One of the photos shows a plaque attached to the front of the viewer from a company in Glasgow, Scotland. This is probably the distributor, not the maker. The quality lenses can be focused by means of a side knob which uses some type of rack and pinion mechanism. As shown, the two top panels open to expose mirrors used to illuminate normal stereoviews. Also, one photo shows the back glass that diffuses the light from the rear so that tissue type stereoviews can be viewed. A total of 35 stereo cards can be displayed in the viewer. I've never seen a more incredible stereoviewer certainly not one in this condition. It will be a great addition to any collection. Thanks for looking and Email any questions that you might have and I'll try my best to answer them. Ted
