ABOUT THE GLAZE of some items of Bennington Rockingham style Yellow Ware :

THIS BOWL HAS A CERTAIN DEGREE OF

FAINTLY BLUE LUMINESCENCE IN IT'S GLAZE.

WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS WAS CAUSED BY THROWING FINE FLINT ONTO IT IN THE KILN WHEN THE TEMPERATURE HAD REACHED A CERTAIN POINT, WHICH WOULD THEN MELT, CAUSING THE COLOURS TO RUN DOWN THE SIDES.

THIS TYPE OF DECORATION MAKES EACH SINGLE PIECE UNIQUE - NO TWO COULD EVER BE THE SAME.

These potters were true artists,

and they made different items each day.

a note about our furniture :

We also have about Fourty-Seven Items of Furniture from The Estate.

Most all are of very high quality,

many are somewhat rare,

and some are very seldom seen.

Almost all of this material has been in our home since and long before the 1940's.
