Antique Vintage Bergman Austria Cold Painted Bronze Orientalist Lamp, Rare Find! This lamp is a Figurine of an Orientalist Merchant selling his wares. He is holding an Oriental Rug, t is a Stained Glass Chandelier Hanging with what appears to be the original glass. One of the panes has a wavy crack across it which is hardly noticable because I did not notice it when I first took the pictures. T is an Urn, a Cooking Pot, a gun along with another item that I have not identified that he is selling. It is cold painted on the rug & his clothes & turban in red, gold & blue. Slight accents on the turban and on the rug.It is Stamped on the Bottom Austria 35 and what looks like GESHUTZT with a large B on n Urn and the numbers 3-9-4-39 t then appears to be to the left a number at the handle 195. Similar lamps have sold for $2600- 8500 either on Ebay Live Auction or Buy it nows! This lamp is very old and was bought in Austria by a Great Aunt in my husband's family. The Aunt was originally from Russia! They were in the metals business and they traveled all over the world. She died before 1948 we think so we don't know theexact age. It may have been made in 1939 or in the 1940's. The plug seems to have been replaced at some point because it says Sunbeam, but it is probably from the 1950's. This lamp is so interesting and the pictures do not do it justice. It is so very Heavy.The Lamp Measures Approx. 21" tall x 7.5" wide at the Base. This Looks like it could have been originally a statue but maybe made into a lamp later. The original wiring is much older than the cord, because it is visible if you look closely w it was repaired at some point and the wiring comes out of pole and is taped to the new cord with cloth electrical tape. You do not see the wiring unless you are looking hard for it. It is hidden behind the rug & is Black & Fades into the Merchant's clothing. When you plug it in the chandelier's stained glass is illuminated. This is for effect, not for lighting. BIDDERS: If you wish to Purchase this lamp, I will sell it to the highest & Best offer. I will ship UPS with Insurance to domestic buyers. International buyers must contact me prior to making an offer. I had this lamp listed at auction and the bidding went way up. The winning bidder turned out to not really be the Ebay Member at all but someone who had stolen another member's ID!
