Description: a fine Berlin plaque, portrait miniature, hand painted to a high standard, showing a young peasant girl by a brook or stream, with water pail , jug and hillside. She rests deep in thought. As far as I can see this is not signed; the back has a very faint pencil inscription which reads " Berlin plaque, 1865". This is framed in a simple period gilt frame, as shown. Condition: slight age wear to the frame, loss to a couple of sections of the original rim beading. Please view pictures included for full self evaluation. Dimentions: framed at 6.35 inches by 4.85 inches, the portrait is at 4.8 inches by 3.1 inches. Owned and enjoyed from the 1990's. Combined postage offered.
