This is a beautiful Bible all of the edges front & back are brass bound like a frame heavily decotated with ivy leaves & vines the brass locks are magnificent with incised brass designe. Has approx 14 color pictures with the fine white page covers still intact, T is a map of Palastine also., This book was put away in a foot locker But the glue on the spline is totaly dried up (see picture) Just one side of the leather cover at the spline is apart from the rest of the cover , I cant find a date on this but I am sure its right at 1860s, Its signed in the front & back cover by the man who owned it William Butter 1876 inside is his birthdate 1855 also listed in the family tree are other family members , Due to the spline drying out the first 10 pages are separated from the rest t are age spots & some discoloring but I think its a great book. in good condition for its age & in need of someone who knows how to fix its damage I have not even cleaned the cover to take the picture I dont know what may or may not harm it, .
