Antique Bicycle 1895 With Wood Rims Up for auction is an antique bicycle with wooden rims that I purchased with the intent of restoring, however time and funds dictate otherwise. I am by far no expert on bicycles however am told that this bicycle probably dates back to 1895 or 1896, and is really a classic looking bike. Name of bike is unknown. âe(tm)s what I do know about it: t is no head badge however on the frame post under the seat is serial number H4533. The wood rims measure ~ 25âe and run a 28âe tire (1-1/8âe tube tire?). The bike has a sweetheart tooth sprocket that measures ~ 9âe on the left side and is direct drive, no coaster brake as I knew t to be when I was a kid. The handle bars were nickel plated and have cork grips in tact, one is missing a thin stamped metal collar on the lead edge. I measured the frame and believe it to be a 24âe frame, not sure. The front fork appears to also have been nickel plated, and the frame was originally black as far as I can tell. The rear wood rim is in poor condition and is split and warped, however the front rim is in good to very good condition. T are 36 spokes in the rear and 32 in the front, hub types are unknown. Approximate weight of the bike is 20 lbs. The seat is original and very interesting for the time. Anyway itâe(tm)s all , hate to see it go but am putting it up for a good home. Seller does reserve the right to remove the item from auction at anytime prior to end of auction. I will try and answer your questions, and will work with winning bidder on shipping arrangements, as I have never shipped a bicycle and do not intend to profit from shipping. If you are seriously interested, email me and we can work it out, possibly even âeoelocalâe pick up or delivery. Good Luck and thanks for looking.
