NO RUST!! Closed Ratchet Type 10" Sweep, 14" High This is a 7 day listing! This is atractive Bit Brace is an great example of America Patent Braces, a top of the line brace built by the Peck, Stow, & Wilcox Company and marketed under the "Worth" name through Bigelow & Dawes Co. of Boston. (P. S. & W was started in 1870). It's brilliant chuck design, "Samson" first patented in 1895 by Henry V. Smith of Hartford, Ct. (patent #542448) is a smooth ball bearing chuck and a reliable worker. The Samson is equal to the Millers Falls Lion chuck. The jaws are serrated and of a "universal" design; thy accept both square and round drill bits. The brace has a ratcheting mechanism distinctive to P S & W ; this example has the easy rotating collar. It is in incredible condition. It was one of my first great "finds" when I started my collection. I originally bought it to use buliding chairs, but I liked it too much to use. . . .Now, I have to pay for a roof, so the collection must go.
