Victorian Black Amethyst Vase Description: Height: 11 inches Base Diameter: 3 inches Top Diameter: 2 inches Body circumference: 9.5 inches The vase is in overall good condition. It does have a few chips, three around the top rim, and one on the side. (view photos) Also viewed in the photo of the back of the vase there is some kind of residue. It shows up gray in the photos, but is not really obvious. I believe it dates to the latter part of the 19th century. Both the style and color palette of the enamel work are victorian. Also a small white line is visible on one of the butterfly wings. The foot of the vase has a polished pontil, and it has been attached to the bottom of vase.
