For auction is an outstanding wooden carved criss cross frame; the frame may be German. It has applied leaves at each corner and a carved decoration applied to the center of each side. T is a white ball like piece in the center of each leaf. The frame is 17 1/2 by 14 1/2; its inside measurements are 11 1/2 by 9 1/2. The white porcelain knobs are dirty and need to be cleaned and the frame needs a good dusting. It is in very good condition; the only problems I can see are a small scuff at the outside edge of the top criss corss and a small chip at the very bottom right of the applied decoration on the lower end of the frame. T are a few old tape marks on the back and an old rope is tied between the two hanging loops. The decoration at each side of the frame is carved and decorated with incised little boxes as are the leaves. It is a beautiful and well done example of this type of folk art and in great condition.
