This is a Beautiful German Black Forest Antique c1900 Victorian Barometer / Thermometer that is HAND CARVED ! This item measures about 19" tall from the top of the hanging ring to the very bottom of the carving on the bottom of the Barometer....At the widest point it is about 8 1/4" wide, and from the back of this item to the very top of the metal dial on the center of the glass on the barometer it is about 2" deep. Both the Thermometer and the Barameter work...---the barometer can be adjusted on the back (for your altitude) This is a Beautiful Carved Barometer! ---t are wonderful Scrolls and leaf designs on this item...as well as a top floral design!....The barometer glass has a beveled edge and t are no large dings chips cracks or scratches that I can find on the glass..(t is a pin head sized ding on the very edge of the bevel on the right side...very very small and minor....)---this glass is in great shape!...see images... The wood has several small holes throughout it .....all of the holes seem dark inside and show appropriate signs of age ---We have had this item for about 6 months and have seen no indications of Frasse or sawdust...and I have found no light colored holes......making me think that the inhabitants left a long long time ago...
