This auction is for an Antique Blue Opalescent Barber Bottle. The Bottle has a beautiful coral design.This bottle also has a ground pontil base as shown in photo. Barber bottles were used in the last half of the 19th century. Barbers filled their own bottles with their own mixture of hair tonics, hair oils, bay rum, shampoo, or rosewater. Each bottle would have it's own distintive color or shape to be easily identifiable to the barber. The bottles stopped being made after the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act was enacted, which made it illegal to refill non-labeled bottles. The Blue Barber Bottle is in excellent condition. T are no nicks, no scratches or other irregularities. The Barber Bottle stands 8 1/4" tall. Please see our other listings for more wonderful Barber Bottles. Arizona residents must pay 6.1% sales tax. Refunds will only be issued if t was a mistake in the listing or in extreme circumstances. We also reserve the right to cancel bids by any buyer with hidden or excessive negative feedback.
