ANTIQUE BLUE & WHITE CANTON, GRAVY BOAT, NUT or SAUCE DISH: This form can be used for many things on the dinner table. It is 4 " wide x 7 1/4" long. It has an attractive scalloped rim and a loop handle. It is in Perfect C ondition . Weight: 9 oz. #329 For further information on this Gravy Boat form go to the: Canton China Virtual Museum by Googling its name. Then in the search box, type in: "gravy boats" to see more examples. It should be noted that all Canton porcelain has minor imperfections that occur during the shaping process, the hand painting and especially the glazing & firing of the final product. These imperfections, for example, are gaps in the glaze, firing cracks, off color pieces, bubbles & pin holes in the glaze, black specs, etc. What are not original are: chips, handling cracks, missing or replaced parts, heavy wear and repairs. Some repairs are done very well but still, they are repaired. Pricing of Canton should reflect non-original defects to a higher degree than original imperfections and that is how I price my pieces.
