Classic... stately and wonderfully ... functional! This beautiful early 20th century Americana solid mahogany bookcase serves it up with style and features original finish with a deep natural patina (we believe this piece to have been originally manufactured in Massachusetts - perhaps, Boston)... beautiful marquetry inlaid detail and three in overall very good condition with the associated and expected wear and tear for a piece of this age (does have a slight hairline crack on the top - but really is not overtly noticeable and does not in any way affect the present day or future stability or functionality)... extremely heavy and solid... three adjustable (peg style) interior shelves allow you to personalize the interior space to fit your needs... three arched glass panels on the front door provides for visual interest and appeal... displays beautifully and is ready, willing and able to serve you and yours for generations to come... (oh and did we mention this piece comes complete with its original two keys)... the perfect not too big size, this bookcase measures approximately 48" height by 26.5" width by 12" depth. We pride ourselves in bringing to our customers hand picked European furniture. Our standards are such that we would proudly display any of the pieces on display in our gallery in our own home. The integrity of the wood itself must be in good shape, hardware must be original and complete. All carving and wood ornamentation must also be complete. We work with about a dozen buyers in Europe that are aware of our standards. The majority of our furniture is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but don't be surprised to see a stunning piece dating back to the 1700's or as recent as the 1940's if it is unique and unusual. We also have the occasional modern reproduction, But even these pieces are hand crafted using only the finest materials, dovetailed joints. Because of the quality and attention to detail we look at these as Antiques of the future. Our descriptions will state the approx age of each piece, dimensions and of course the price.
