Rare Antique Bradley and Hubbard #89 Hanging Store Lamp. Electrified Oil Lamp. The B&H #89 is rarely seen in it's complete state. This lamp includes the brass base, the hanger, the shade and two of it's hard to find "Wasp Waist" chimneys. The lamp features the following wording : " 'THE B&H' No.89 PAT D March 27 & April 17 1888 PAT'D July 15 1890". The base of the lamp is 10" high, and 9 1/2"wide. Total height, with hanger is 35", Width with shade is 20". The lamp base is brass, the hanger is black iron, and the shade is pattern stamped metal, black on top, white on the inside. The lamp has been discreetly electrified, the wick has been replaced by the lamp socket. T is a single strand of electricical wire that runs up each side of the hanger, then runs for 12 more inches before joining at the plug. T is no electrical switch on the lamp, it is meant to be plugged into a switched outlet. It does not seem as if it would be a particularly difficult task to remove the electric components and return the lamp to burning oil. The condition of the lamp is very good, t are no dents or noticeable scratches. T is one 1"x 1/4" area on the top, inside rim of the shade, w the metal is ragged.
