Offered for auction is a Victorian era hanging oil lamp with glass prisms by Bradley & Hubbard. It is ruby flash. The metal appears to be brass. I believe it is all original with the exception of being electrified. The cord goes through the bottom of the mantle, so it could be converted back to oil if desired. Total drop of lamp is 34 inches with the diameter of the shade being 15 inches. It is marked B & H, a patent date that appears to be Aug. 25, 1882. The mantle is marked Steel Mantle Light Co., Chicago, Ill. The shade and font have a swirl type design. There are 42 glass prisms measuring about 3 ¾ inch each. These were in a box with the lamp and some were put on lamp for the photo, but I do not know if these are original to the lamp. Some of them have minor dings on tips. The mechanism to raise and lower the lamp is intact, but the chain is missing. The lamp is in good condition except for missing chain and being electrified as noted. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. This came from an old home in southeast Kansas near Yates Center. TEXAS residents must pay 8.25% sales tax or provide a valid TX resale certificate prior to shipping. Thank you for looking at my auction item!
