This is a real gem! It is a P &A Harvard student lamp, almost certainly made by the Wild and Wessel company in Berlin Germany. It has the original green felt bottom and I did not want to remove it, but this is the real deal. The quality of casting is absolutely indicative of this superior manufacturer. Look at the pictures, they leave no room for doubt. The lamp is all original, other than that is has been electrified. It is working electric. The cord is the original silk cord that was used when the lamp was originally converted. The burner was removed to insert the electric socket, and whoever did the conversion did a very clean, very tight job. The shade ring measures 7" in diameter and is all original and fully functional and adjustable. It can be raised to the top of the brass post or put at the bottom or anyw in between, all with the tightening of a thumb screw. Neither the shade nor the chimney is included. The solid brass casting is exceptional and includes faces and gargoyle heads around the sides and front of the lamp. The lamp stands 21" tall and needs nothing but a shade, chimney and a little polishing. A real treasure, NOT TO BE MIISSED!! BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!! 100% Guarenteed OLD HARVARD!! Best of all, NO RESERVE AND OPENING BID OF $.99!! Any questions, please email. Good luck and happy bidding!
I was informed that is not a Wild and Wessel, but a Plume and Atwood Harvard. Just as good a maker, just not the one I said. Sorry for the inaccuracy. Thanks and good luck. -Brian
