2560 Dodge StreetDubuque, IA 52003Antique Brass Leitz Wetzlar 95981 Microscope Filiale New York Circa 1890's I am not positive to the actual age of this microscope some time in the 1890s but from my understanding Litzy has been making microscopes since 1876. The microscope is stamped E-Litzy wetzlar No. 95981 Filiale New York on One leg. This Microscope measures 12" tall, the base measures 4" wide by 5 1/2" deep. Th base appears to be made of cast brass it's not magnetic. The microscope has 3 lenses on it that rotate, a mirror on the bottom, and another lens of some sort that swivels between the mirror and the 3 lenses. The microscope also has the original caring case with it's key. The case measures 13 1/2" tall, 6 1/4" wide, by 7 1/2" deep. The case contains three lens cases a spare lens and then a couple other pieces that I'm not positive are the same era of the microscope There is one wood piece that's loose in the case The case is in good condition for its age with appropriate where there are a couple cracks in the wood and some chips On top the case has the original handle and a brass badge that reads e leitz wetzlar New York - ChicagoPayment:Local pickups are welcome at our office in Dubuque Iowa.
