For auction is an ornate antique brass kerosene lamp frame or holder that would have been hung from the ceiling. Obviouly, it has neither the lamp nor the shade. It does include all other parts except for the smoke bell that was sometimes present. The mechanism for pulling the lamp down to refill it is in fine working condition with a good strong spring. Some of the metal in the lamp frame is slightly bent but this can easily be corrected once it is fitted with a lamp and shade. The same goes for adjusting the chains to make it level. The upper fixture (that holds the winder) appears to be a replacement as is is shinier than the rest of the lamp. I believe the glass prisms are not original to the lamp. This will make it easier to replace the one prism that is missing from the top and the two that are missing from the bottom. Overall, top to bottom, the frame measures approximately 36". It is made to accept a lamp that is 4" in diameter and a shade that is 14" in diameter.
