Having spent the summer 'Behind the Back of God', exploring the dusty roads of rustic and extremely religious rural Quebec ...the Lower St.Lawrence..settled by French,English...Irish and Scots.........Saint Apollinaire..Saint Agapit..Saint Etienne-de-Lauzon...Saint-George-de-Beauce...Saint-Ephrem-de-Tring..Saint-Leon-de-Standon...Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague...Each and every town with a Church or a seminary or convent....long left behind for Life in the Big City .

It is that I have found a wealth of religious artefacts..authentic...pristine..until recently an integral part of daily life. From homes and churches...from priests and nuns...icons of their devotion and Faith.

You are invited to bid on a solid brass crucifix, with teak inlay as the Cross on the front. It shows Christ in His Passion, face upturned. Over His head is a solid brass INRI scroll, and at His feet is a skull and crossbones, also in solid brass. Behind His head is the radiating Sacre Coeur. Measures 5.5"long by 3.80" wide and weighs in excess of 75 grams.

This is a large, heavy piece, traditionally worn by a Bishop or Monseigneur, usually on a red silk cord, and rests over the heart, thus pectoral.

I have left this piece as found,...unpolished, to best show its age and condition. Should you choose to polish the Cross, undoubtedly it will return to its original glory.
