Up for consideration is a beautiful Antique Brides Basket that was purchased from a local Estate. The bowl is cranberry color with a lattice opalescent pattern with a beautiful ribbon top. The Victorian basket holder is ornate with a cable-like pattern handle that has two long-stemmed rose buds on each side, towards the bottom of the handle . The basket holder has an ornate scrolling pattern all the way around it. Just beautiful! The basket holder is marked on the bottom Wilcox Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate, Meriden, Conn. 5593. Also, next to the 5593 is two hand-signed initials that looks like a W and an E or maybe an N U and E . Though they are not hard to see, it is how the first initial was written that makes it difficult to say for sure. The second initial E was easy to see/figure-out. But they were hand-signed. The basket holder is in excellent condition...strong and sturdy still! For the sake of mentioning, if you run your fingers around inside of the cranberry basket you can feel a bumps that looks like air bubbles that may have popped and some slightly rough spots that appear to be maker flaws. But I could only find these by feeling the inside of the basket. No chips, cracks or repairs. It has not been cleaned or polished. I will leave this to the new owner. All-in-all it is a beautiful Brides Basket set! Please look at the pictures and email me with questions before bidding. Insurance included in shipping cost. Payment due within 7 days of auction end. Wilcox Basket Holder measurements: 11 inches high and almost 9 inches wide. (inside basket/bowl holder 5.5 inches) Cranberry Art Glass Basket/Bowl measurements: 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches square and 4 inches high. **Also, as a general rule I try to start my auctions low. This is not a reflection on the quality or value. Just something I prefer to do!
