I am offering this unique and beautiful antique bronze fish, (koi) pen holder, with no reserve! It stands approximately 4 inches to the top of the fish's lip, and 8 inches to the tip of the Esterbrook lever fill fountain pen. I don't know if this is the original pen that came with this piece, but it fits well, and appears in excellent vintage condition. The base is approximately 4 inches in diameter. The fish itself looks to be unmarked. A magnet does not stick to the heavy solid cast metal. I believe it to be solid bronze, but I am no expert. I don't know if this was an early Chinese export piece, as the fish looks like a Koi to me. It is nicely detailed and seems to have that symetrical Chinese look to it. That is only my opinion! It could well be domestic! Whatever the origin, it is a heavy, high quality piece. It has a bakelite or catalin type insert, into which the pen is placed. T are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. I would consider it in overall excellent vintage condition! The spots visible on the base were only dirt, which I later removed with a fingernail while examining the piece. This piece was carefully displayed for many decades, though I don't know the exact age of origination, only that it is quite old.
