Antique Bronze Relief Tray, Signed M. Ringel, 19th C.
Description: Antique Victorian Gilt Bronze Relief Tray, Signed M. Ringel, Late 19th C. Probably French. The tray features an elaborate scrolled rim with two handles and branches with berries and acorns. The surface of the tray is cast in low relief with an outdoor scene depicting a couple greeting guests arriving at a party. The lower right corner of the scene is signed "M. RINGEL". The back of the tray is also decorated and features a central medallion with "X" and "E" mark over "254". Dimensions: 19-5/8" Long, 10-7/8" Wide, 1-3/8" Deep. Weight: 4lbs. 4oz. Condition: T is considerable rubbing/wear to the gilt surface and edges of the tray. T is a slight verdigris patina (oxidation) to the bronze. Otherwise, the piece is in good condition.
