This writing box has flaws from age. I have owned since 1976. I have just had as a display item and it has sat for years untouched. I have done some minor repair as in placing pins or brads to reattach hinges. The velvet fabric of the "desk"area I have used wood glue to reattach. It it pretty much in the same shape as I bought it. I fell in love with it and loved it as is. You get what you see.I can tell you it is not a "perfect" antique. It is an antique with earned natural processes of aging. 12" by 9 1/2" by 4 1/4"
