Hello everyone! I have been an ebay member for quite some time now and decided that it is finally time I get off my duff and sell some things. I have collected for many years and have some wonderful items to list. I hope that you will come back from time to time and check them out as I will be listing them on a weekly basis. I completely guarantee everything I sell to be "as described" and want this to be a good transaction for the both of us so please bid with confidence and thanks for looking!

I am offering this apparently one of a kind Durham Cigar clock from the late 1800's and IT STILL WORKS!!!! I say one of a kind because I have researched it and have not found anything of the like anyw It is in the form of a bull and in the center is a clock with the words "Durham Cigar" on the face and it is covered in glass with a sort of beaded design around it. On the left side of the clock, on the body of the bull, it reads "Durham" and on the right,it reads "Cigar", the g is in the form of a lightening bolt. I believe it to be made of cast iron (it weighs approximately 5 lbs.) and it has a brassy/bronze type of painted finish. The finish is OLD, not bad but somewhat worn, and not something that has been done recently and could very well be original to the piece. It measures approximately 10 inches tall x 13 inches in length. It stands on a pedestal that reads in embossed letters, "HETTERMANN BROS. CO., LOUISVILLE, KY. (the pedestal is part of the overall form, it does not separate from the bull as you can see in the pictures). From what I have been able to find out, Hettermann Bros. were imigrants from Germany and ran a business on 4th St. in Louisville, Ky. in the late 1800's and later moved to another location t This wonderful old piece is in great condition with a working clock that has to be wound about every 2 days. On the backside, the clock reads "Pat. SEP.22,85(1885),OTHER PAT.APPLD.FOR. I believe this piece to be from the late 1800's and no newer than around 1900. Please look closely at the pictures and know that you are buying a truly great old antique piece of authentic tobacciana. I completely moneyback guarantee this to be exactly as I describe and If you collect Bull Durham items or just Cigar or Tobacco items, this one is surely one to add to your collection.

I try my best to describe my items as best I can and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please let me know immediately upon receipt and I will do whatever it takes to make this transaction a good one for you. Payment is expected within 7 days of auctions end and I will ship item out by USPS Priority mail once payment has been received. At this time I take paypal and postal money orders only.
