Available with No Reserve is an antique L. C. Smith & Bros. No. 3 Typewriter in good condition. The front plate above the keys may have been replaced at some point – as the stencil on it reads “8 L C Smith & Corona Typewriters Inc 10 In”. The bottom front of the typewriter reads “No. 3 L. C. Smith & Bros. Typewriter Co. 12 In., Made is Syracuse, NY U.S.A.” The roller measures 12” and not 10” so this leads me to believe the typewriter is a No. 3 although I could be wrong as I am not a collector or knowledgeable of these. Also under the typerwriter are the numbers: C303 which were hand wrote in white lettering and I am not sure what purpose they were used for, but could have been added by the company who owned it as an inventory number. The machine is fairly clean and everything works nicely as the carriage return glides smoothly back and forth, all the keys strike nicely and do not stick, the tab key, back space key and the ribbon set key work nicely. The line spacer for single, double or triple spacing works smoothly too. One small thumb screw is missing from the top of the right ink ribbon holder – otherwise I believe everything else is there.
