The woman is delightful and innocent..the bird and the peacock are lovely. This beautiful sculpture was purchased from an estate in Belair, California. The previous owner was an avid collector of Asian antiquities, this particular Ox Bone sculpture is one piece of an incredible acquisition. This sculpture is old and it is signed-I have sent a scan of all the signed pieces (including this one) to Christies in an attempt to interpret the signature. Hopefully, I will get a response before the auction ends. I've dated it around c1900s using some of my personal collection as an anchor- only because I am not sure of its age.
