Antique, c1918, large glass ball and stand decorated on the inside with white, red, blue, green and yellow speckled paint over colored scraps of President Woodrow Wilson flanked by American Stars and Stripes flags, on the sides different scraps of a hand bearing a postcard and on the back a scrap of the flags of France, Japan, USA and UK draped over a rifle. This is the decalomania technique. Presumably made to celebrate the ending of the First World War - The Great War.
this is very similar to the one I have just sold, but it is larger and a little more elaborate. Presumably made by the same hand. Size: 11 3/4" tall x 6"dia. max Condition: No damage.
