Carl Zeiss Jena a* low-power achromatic microscope objective of variable focal length from 38 to 26 mm or 1.5 X to 2 X magnification, with original brass can.The power of this unusual objective can be altered by turning the knurled ring which alters the separation of the two elements.From the "achromatic doublet" engraved on the barrel of the objective and on the top of the lid of the can, this dates from the period between 1905 and 1914.Optically it is excellent, without misting, scratches or fungi.The objective and the can have their original lacquer which, for their age, is in reasonable but not perfect condition (see pictures).I will post this worldwide but with "signed-for" postage.Please note that if the postage costs significantly less than the price quoted, I will send a refund.
