Recently discovered at one of the convents we work with is this embroidered sacramental called a “détente”. It is used much like a medal on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and it would have been pinned on to a shirt or blouse.

This one is 3 inches long, by 2 inches wide, is over 100 years old, and was done by a cloistered Carmelite nun.
