Beautiful carved amethyst quartz jewelry suite. It dates from1880 to 1920. The strand consists of 18 deeply carved beads each bead is separated by two diamond shape faceted sparkling crystal beads, the central medallion is deeply carved in floral motif with some pierce carving & the medallion is mounted in a simple frame & marked sterling & measures 1 ?wide x 1 1/8high a very substantial oval. The beads are strung on silver chain; the catch is gold filled & May or may not be original. The dangling earrings are pretty spectacular measuring three inches long, strung on silver chain, the oval is of floral motif the carved bead is flanked top & bottom by an amethyst crystal bead, screwback type with a very decorative silver filigree knot they measure 2 5/8 long & the necklace measures stretched out from end to end16. This suite is so elegant the design & detail is excellent, the condition is excellent, there is only one bead that has a chip in it, but being so highly carved you cant even see it, the more I look at this suite while writing this description, Im starting to wonder if it might be lavender Jade?
