Beautifully carved creche figure, circa 1800s, possibly English or German in origin. In excellent condition with finely detailed anatomy, approx. 2 7/8" long.Purchased in 1971 at Bermondsey Market, London as carved ivory. Have since had two verbal appraisals. The first confirmed material as ivory, the second as bone. Whatever the material, it is a one-of-a-kind piece, a great find for the lucky buyer. Shipped insured.
