Antique Black Forest Eagle Top Cuckoo Clock
Click to listen to the clock Cuckoo we have a antique c. 1880 or 90's Hand Carved Black Forest cuckoo clock. The clock runs well and keeps accurate time. The clock measures 17 1/8" high , 13 1/2" wide and 8" deep. The clock has a wooden cuckoo bird with flapping wings. The face has ivory hands. The center of the face is marked Germany. The top of the cuckoo has a spread winged cuckoo bird often referred to as an eagle top. Each side of the clock has a door for accessing the movement. The movemnt is a 30 hour movment that is constructed with cast brass plates. The clock cuckoos once and strikes a gong on the half hour and does the same for the number of hours on the hour. The back door has part of an original label with directions for winding and operating the clock. Included is a maple leaf pendulum and two cast iron pinecone weights . Overall this is a very nice antique cuckoo clock.
