DescriptionThis is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home.It is made of cherry and is painted.The shelf is supported by 2 corbels with carved acanthis leaves on the faces.There are fluted tapered columns below the corbels.The breast has a raised panel in the middle with a carved festoon.To either side are floral carvings.It measures 59.75 inches wide by 48 tall. It is almost 11.25 deep at the shelf.The firebox opening is 36 wide (can be 48 by removing trip pieces) by 39 tall.Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The left side mounting board is missing as is a trim piece below the breast. There is a beaded molding below the shelf, it is missing along the left side return.
