Antique Carved Oak Wall Shelf Coat Hat Plate Rack Purchased in a recent shipment from England , this listing is for a beautiful carved oak hanging wall shelf. The shelf is solid oak and has detailed carvings and applied wood trim, with shapely corbels and beveled, scalloped edges. T are 6 brass hangers, each embellished with ladies/girls/angels(??), and the upper shelf has two deep grooves, perfect for displaying plates. The shelf is attached to the wall via two inset hangers on the back. It measures 38 ½" x 12" x 7 ". A very versatile piece, useable in almost every room of the house (I have one in the utility room, one in the game room). Originally used as a "kitchen shelf", it would also be great for collections of any kind or seasonal/holiday displays. The shelf is in very good condition for it's age, with minimal signs of age and use, dings and scratches. The glass does not have any cracks or chips.
