ANTIQUE NUMBER 11 CAST IRON SCOTCH BOWL KETTLE WITH BAIL HANDLEThis is an old circa 1880 larger size unmarked Scotch Bowl (kettle) with a nice bail handle. Recently found in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, this old cooking vessel pre-dates both Griswold and Wagner cast iron products. It weighs five pounds, is 4-3/4" deep and has a top diameter of 11-1/4" with a tipping lip. The bottom shows a #11, has a 5" diameter raised rim and a gatemark. This old cooking vessel is in good condition without any cracks, chips or warping. It shows only minimal pitting on the inside. It does have some minor carbon residue on the outside. A terrific example of a very functional size kettle! THANKS FOR VISITING LANE'S COUNTRY LARK!
