From a Private Collection, is one of the oldest and finest Large Boston Terrier Cast Iron Doorstops you'll find anyw! Feel free to ENLARGE my photos so you see what a near-perfect door stop looks like. Notice the markings in the mold indicating hair on the dog and the sharpness of the muscle tone. Measuring a full 9-1/4 inches tall and 9-1/2 inches long, this dog has been superbly cared for in a home that had NO children. The majority 95% of the original paint is intact with minimal wear near the nose and feet. The original Flat-Head Screw is present, appears to have NEVER been unscrewed. It has never been taken apart. Notice the difference between Boston Terrier Doorstops produced in the late 1800's compared to those of the early 1900's. In the late 1800's the pads of the feet were NOT ground flat, tfore the dog always sat on a bit of a bump under the feet which leaves much of the original paint on the underside of the paws. T is plenty of paint on the underside of the pads of this dog's feet indicating very little handling or use over the past century. Compare the bottom of this dog's paws to those of other dogs that were ground flat in later years. This is the FINEST Boston Terrier Doorstop I've ever owned and one of the best in regards to overall condition. It weighs in at an amazing 10 pounds! These dogs were painted with a base coat in the late 1800's, then air-brush painted on the head, body and back, which is evident on this Boston Terrier. The markings indicate Hubley as the maker with its signature red tongue and hand-painted eyes. This century-old pup has NEVER been apart. The seams are SMOOTH and very tight! This dog is completely original, it is old and has never been repainted. I really don't think this pup held too many doors open during the past 100 years. I have set a very reasonable reserve, below its value. You will not see another Boston Terrier Doorstop of this quality in many years. The last time this dog was available was when the previous owner purchased it. If you're a collector of Cast Iron Doorstops, don't miss this opportunity to purchase a special dog. It is heavy, weighing in at ten pounds. Shipping will be strong due to the weight and insurance. I ship and package very carefully and include Insurance in my shipping costs. Please note my 100% Positive Feedback and notice the many quality premier doorstops we are selling.
