This auction is for a Very Nice Desk Accessory . An Antique Letter Holder, ca. 1885, Cast Iron and all Surfaces are Brass Plated. Approximate measurements are H.6" x W.9" x D.5". The rectangular base of the letter holder is supported by four scroll feet. The front and back panels have pastoral scenes of a stag leaping over a fence pursued by two dogs. The center panel is surmounted by a decorative flat finial with a large finger hole for carrying. The base bears the mark: B&H in raised San Serif letters which is the Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Co. marking. The Smithsonian Institution Castle Collection displays a piece just like this one and I will include the ariticle I printed on the internet from the Smithsonian website to show its authenticity.
