I purchased this antique, cast iron nutcracker in the shape of an eagles head at an auction this weekend, and it belonged to a gentleman who was a life long collector and museum owner in the South. Measuring 9" from beak to handle tip, and 5" in height, this is one unusual piece! Of course, t are paint issues, but the patina adds charm to this nutcracker! As you pull up the handle, the beak opens! This cast iron piece weights 2.7 pounds, and I cannot see any markings on it.
