CAST IRON fire starter/SMUDGE/FIRE/DIPPING POT
Title: Fire starter pot Style: Cast Iron Origination: America Maker: Unknown Size: 7" tall, 5" diameter Condition: Very Good This vintage fireplace lighter is a cast iron pot that stores fuel such as kerosene or lighter fluid. It is a very heavy cast iron with a brass lid. The ceramic stone on the dipper end is saturated with fuel, place it under the logs and light it, or drizzling the fuel on the logs. The stone burns about ten minutes just long enough to ignite the logs directly without the need for kindling. When the wood catches fire, remove the dipper and let cool before placing it back into the pot. The lid, pivoting handle and wand to dipper is brass...lid has a cut-out at the edge for the wand. A very efficient and economical way to start your fire...plus it adds an old style charm to your fireplace. Extreme Measurements are: 7" tall (to top of knob on lid), approx. 5" diameter. Dipper wand is approximately 8" long (total) with a 3" diameter ceramic end. See pictures for details . It's in good condition and will add great personality to your fireplace hearth. Thank you for your time in review and consideration. All questions are welcome and answered promptly. Good Luck! Shipping cost is $10.00 to anyw in the continental United States. Of course, you are welcome to pick it up and save the shipping expense. We live in Houston, Texas, 77084. WE ARE CONSTANTLY ADDING MORE ITEMS ON TO EBAY, PLEASE CHECK IN OFTEN!
