RARE This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare fire starter ANTIQUE set for your collection - or it would make a great addition to your fireplace decor. It is a two item set -- the first piece holds little rolls of newspaper. It has a gold painted cast iron base that the wood newspaper holder screws into. It is all original and has not been refinished in anyway. For its age it is in GREAT condition. The base has an ornate design. Please see pictures. It measures 8.5" tall and is 7" x 7" at the base. The second piece is a cast iron shoe that holds the wood matches-strike the match to light, like the good old days. It measures 7.25" long by 2.5" wide and is 2.25 inches tall. Based on the casting, material and style/design, I believe this item was made between the 1890's and late 1920's but I am not familiar with this item and its specifics. In essense you strike the match, light the newspaper, and place it to your kindling. I do not think you will be dissatisfied with this opportunity however if you are not completely satisfied I do accept returns and will refund.
